Tickets: ¥2,500 at the door only

Special guest: Bollywood celebrity DJ Akhtar
Diwali needs a headliner, and Osaka gets one of the biggest names in Bollywood DJing. DJ Akhtar is the legendary Bollywood DJ from Mumbai, known for high-energy sets that keep the dance floor packed until closing. Osaka gets him the same week he headlines Diwali in Tokyo on Saturday 7 November.
Expect the big ones: the latest Bollywood chartbusters, 90s and 2000s classics, Punjabi party anthems that get the whole room doing bhangra, and festive tracks you'll be singing all the way home.
Why celebrate Diwali in Osaka?
Kansai's Indian and South Asian community has grown fast, from Osaka and Kobe to Kyoto and Nara, but most of the big Bollywood nights have always been in Tokyo. Diwali is the festival people miss most when they're away from home, so this year we're bringing the celebration to you: music, dancing, dressing up and friends, right in the heart of Minami.
It's not only for Indians. Japanese friends, international students, tourists and Bollywood lovers from every background are welcome. If you're looking for things to do in Osaka for Indians this November, or simply a great Desi party in Osaka, start here.
What to wear
It's Diwali, so dress up! Ethnic, Indo-Western or fusion looks are perfect: kurtas, sarees, lehengas, Nehru jackets, or your sparkliest party outfit. Gold, colour and shine are very welcome. It's the festival of lights, after all.
How to get to PANAF Nightclub, Shinsaibashi
PANAF is on the 7th floor of the BIGSTEP building in Nishi-Shinsaibashi (Amerikamura), one of the easiest nightlife areas in Osaka to reach:
- Shinsaibashi Station (Midosuji Line, Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line): a short walk west into Amerikamura.
- Yotsubashi Station (Yotsubashi Line): also a few minutes on foot.
- From Namba / Dotonbori: an easy walk north.
- From Kobe or Kyoto: head to Umeda or Namba, then take the Midosuji Line to Shinsaibashi.
The party runs until 04:00, so you can dance all night and catch the first train home. With Culture Day the next day, there's no rush.
