Between late September and New Year's Eve, WeDesi Tokyo is throwing five back-to-back Desi nights: a rooftop-energy matsuri, a Halloween costume party, the city's biggest Bollywood Diwali, a year-end bonenkai, and a New Year countdown into 2027.

What a WeDesi Bollywood party in Tokyo is actually like
If you've never been, picture this: a packed floor, a crowd that knows every word, and a DJ moving from timeless Bollywood classics to Punjabi bhangra to the latest Hindi chart-toppers — with a few global bangers thrown in. It's less “quiet drinks” and more full-on celebration; wedding-level dancing, but every month. The lights, the sound, the LED screens and the energy are built for one thing: getting Tokyo dancing.
Just as importantly, it's a community. For a lot of our regulars — students, IT and finance professionals, new arrivals far from home — a WeDesi night is where Tokyo feels like a home away from home. First-timers always leave as regulars, and you absolutely don't need to be Indian to come: everyone who loves Bollywood and Desi culture is welcome on the floor.
Desi Matsuri — the Tokyo Bollywood party (Sat 26 September)
We kick off the season with Desi Matsuri at S Night Club, Shibuya — our take on a Japanese matsuri (festival), reimagined as a full Bollywood party. Expect Bollywood classics, Punjabi bhangra and the newest Desi club hits from 22:30 until 4:30, in the heart of Shibuya's nightlife district.
This is the one night on the list that's on sale right now, and early-bird pricing is the best deal you'll get all season: ladies from just ¥1,500, men ¥2,500, and couples ¥3,700 (early-bird closes on the day of the event, so book ahead). Bollyween — Tokyo's Desi Halloween party (Sat 31 October)
Halloween meets Bollywood at Bollyween, our Desi Halloween party in Tokyo, hosted at the legendary Maharaja Roppongi. Bring your best costume — whether that's a horror classic or your favourite Bollywood character — and dance from 22:00 to 4:30 to Bollywood, Punjabi and the latest hits. Roppongi is Tokyo's international nightlife hub, and Maharaja is one of its most iconic venues, so this is Halloween on a big stage. Diwali Party — the biggest Bollywood Diwali night in Tokyo (Sat 7 November)
Celebrating Diwali in Tokyo hits different when you're far from home — which is exactly why our Diwali Party is one of the most special nights of the year. Held at S Night Club, Shibuya from 22:30 to 4:30, it's the festival of lights turned into the city's biggest Bollywood Diwali dance floor: Bollywood, Punjabi and Desi hits all night, with the whole community out in force. Desi Bonenkai — the year-end Bollywood party (Sat 5 December)
In Japan, a bonenkai (忘年会, literally “forget-the-year gathering”) is the classic year-end party — so we gave it a Desi twist. Desi Bonenkai at S Night Club, Shibuya (22:30–4:30) is the Bollywood way to close out 2026: Bollywood classics, Punjabi bangers and non-stop dancing with your Tokyo Desi family before the year ends. New Year Countdown 2027 (Thu 31 December)
Ring in 2027 on the dance floor at our New Year Countdown — Tokyo's Bollywood New Year's Eve party at Maharaja Roppongi. Doors from 21:30, and we party through midnight until 4:00. There's no better way to start the new year than counting down to midnight with the best Bollywood floor in the city and your Desi family around you. Not a club night, but a rare one worth mentioning — one of India's most-loved comedians, Sunil Grover, performs live at Hall C, Tokyo International Forum on 25 September, with WeDesi Tokyo as promotional partner. Practical info: venues, timings, dress code & tickets
Venues. Our club nights run at two of Tokyo's best-known venues: S Night Club in Shibuya (Desi Matsuri, Diwali, Desi Bonenkai) and Maharaja Roppongi (Bollyween, New Year Countdown) — both central and easy to reach by train.
Timings. Club nights typically run 22:00–22:30 until around 4:30; the New Year Countdown starts a little earlier at 21:30. Come early to beat the queue and make the most of the night.
Dress code & age. Dress to impress — it's a party, not a casual bar night (and Bollyween is costumes). These are 20+ events, so bring a valid photo ID.
Tickets. Desi Matsuri is on sale now; the rest go on sale soon. Early-bird tickets are always the cheapest, and festival nights (Diwali, New Year) sell out first — so grabbing them early genuinely saves you money and stress.
